Free online writing blogs simply don't go deep enough. They'll give you a good nugget of wisdom here and there, but they basically regurgitate surface-level writing advice that has been around for decades. They will not teach you transformational human psychology or the three levels of emotion, or the step-by-step processes for how to craft a story readers will gush about. Thinking what they offer will help you produce a best-seller is a little like learning basic addition and subtraction, and thinking you're ready to do calculations for NASA. Just not gonna happen, my friend.

First of all, real talk? You get what you pay for. Want basic writing advice you could get almost anywhere? The free writing blogs or basic programs should do just fine. ESI is different because it's not just another writing course that gives you run-of-the-mill advice about how to craft characters or follow the hero's journey. Each module comprises a handful of videos which on average are less than 20 minutes long. You should be able to consume most modules in around an hour. Some a little more, some a little less, just depending on the module. Many authors spend more time because they are so pumped to implement what they've learned into their current WIP. Most want to watch the videos more than once for maximum retention, which I encourage since science tells us we only retain roughly 20% of what we absorb the first time we learn it. But again, that's totally up to you. ;D

Other than that, we have 2 calls per week which I strongly advise you to attend if you want to get maximum value and success from the program. But it's entirely up to you!

I've literally never had that happen to anyone who truly goes through the course and does the work. ESI doesn't just give you writing knowledge; it re-trains your brain so that you won't get stuck anymore. These methods are powerful and they work.

Your stories are super-emotional and vibrant in your head. But what plays out in your head and what you're communicating on the page are two different things. My methods help you hone the skill of communicating emotion on the page. I use Transformational Human Psychology (the process by which all human beings undergo change), the 3 levels of emotion, and elements of spirituality & energetics to enhance story. Specifically, to enhance the emotion the story causes the reader to feel.

The true nature of story has always been about human change and emotion, but this concept is not well understood or taught in the fiction writing space. If you are NOT already using THP and the 3 levels of emotion to enhance the genius story you're currently writing, you're leaving a ton of emotion on the table. (Is that table okay? ;D)

MOST authors struggle to get their stories written. And the biggest reason for this that no one ever taught you is that you're trying to FORCE your story out using your conscious/logical mind.

But your imagination, creativity, and emotions all live in your subconscious mind. So, trying to use your conscious mind to do something creative is a little like trying to un-clog a toilet with a fork. Wrong tool, my friend, and it's not going to be terribly effective.

The moment you shift to craft your story directly and intentionally from the subconscious mind, block, indecision, struggle, frustration, and second-guessing become a thing of the past.

THP is the step-by-step process through which every human being undergoes change. Specifically, change to alleviate suffering. All human beings go through the same steps when making changes to who they are, what they believe, or what their lives look like. Whether it's choosing an outfit for the day or a much bigger life change, like picking a career or life partner, the steps are always the same.

Understanding how these steps fit into your story and how your protagonist is going through each one opens up a whole new level (several, actually) of depth and emotion for your story. You'll never look at fiction the same way again! I guarantee it!

This course is designed for writers at all levels who want to create emotional fiction that connects with readers. Whether you've already published a few books or are still working on that first manuscript, this course will help you level up the emotion you put in every part of your story, making it all the more appealing to readers!

Sort of, and no. For the first 12 weeks of the program, you will get between 1-2 modules dripped out each week. You can go slower than that pace, but you cannot go faster. Videos drop once per week and we have live Q&A calls on Thursdays, so I can help you with your story and you can get all your questions answered.

Trust me, it's better that way. This course covers every major part of story, and if I gave it to you all at once, it would be overwhelming. I find that authors are much less stressed and therefore have much more success and much better experiences if I give it to them one module at a time. It also allows us to support one another much more efficiently!
