Hi! I’m Liesel.
Founder of 6-Figure Storyteller and the THP Method of fiction writing.
I teach writing in a vastly different way than you’ve probably ever heard of or been taught.

What if I told you, writing from the plot first is the worst way to write a novel?
In all seriousness, plot isn’t what will make readers love your story. It’s not what will make your story a best seller. It’s not what will turn you into a famous author with thousands of adoring readers.
In fact, if you’re ONLY focusing on the plot, you’re on the fast track to a B-movie novel. You might as well ask Jean-Claude Van Damme or Steven Seagal to pose for the cover.
“Story is a metaphor for a journey that leads to change.” – Christopher Vogler
There isn’t a truer definition of story. What this means is that the bedrock foundation of your story is transformation. In other words, the inner arc.
THIS is what hooks readers (it brings the emotion).
THIS is what guides your readers to catharsis (the climax and release of their emotions).
THIS is what will bring readers back to you time and time again to read anything and everything you write
Because they know that your stories make them feel something.
We all know there are no truly unique stories out there, but God is in the details. Writing from your subconscious, rather than your conscious mind, is what makes your story unique to you.
It helps you tell the story you’ve come up with through the lens of your unique identity. Your past experiences, your culture, your upbringing, your beliefs, and so much more shape the lens through which you see the world.
Which in turn shapes the uniqueness with which you tell your story.
Writing your story from your subconscious mind gives you unique inspiration, makes you passionate about your story, helps you never get blocked, and guides you to write your inimitable Soul Stories.
We spend a lot of time in my ESI program figuring out the details of how your character will change from the first chapter of the book to the climactic scene. This will include backstory, and the step-by-step process of the inner arc.
This really comes down to understanding the psychology of emotion and transformation, and how it drives belief, behavior and decisions.
This may sound complex, but while it’s fascinating, it’s really not as difficult as you may think. After all, you’re an author! You’re already something of an expert on human behavior. 😉
We also use emotional psychology to plan your story’s world and your character relationships. Because all of this is based in the emotional and simply manifests into the physical (plot) of the story. Bet you didn’t know that, did you? 🤯
Here’s where we finally get to plot. Even though we are planning the external events of your story, we still use transformational human psychology as a guide.
Doing this makes for perfect pacing, helps you soldier right through that saggy middle in a way that keeps readers salivating for more, and, by default, creates a page-turning novel.
Then it’s time to actually create your scenes. I show you how to create a cause-and-effect scene outline. This helps you get all the little details and nuances put into your scenes. It makes the ending feel like destiny (which, incidentally, creates more emotion for the reader).
We also go through the Addictive Scene formula, which helps you master pacing and emotion, scene by scene.
Then, you sit down to write! And by this time, you have so much detail and step-by-step direction on what’s going into each scene that you can’t help but sit down and let the words spill out of you.
This sequence is what has helped my students go from a hesitating 300–500 words written per hour to sometimes over 2,000 words per hour—because they know exactly what they’ll be writing.
And once your first draft is finished and it’s time to edit, I can show you how to edit for emotion—within your scenes, your descriptions, your sentences, and even your word choice.
And once your first draft is finished and it’s time to edit, I can show you how to edit for emotion—within your scenes, your descriptions, your sentences, and even your word choice.
Again, this isn’t as daunting as it probably sounds reading the above paragraph. I have a proprietary method for identifying where the problems are and simply fixing them.
This is my method for writing 6-Figure Soul Stories.
My flagship program, The Emotional Storyteller’s Intensive, shows you exactly how to do this every step of the way.
I hold your hand and give you an exact, step-by-step process for getting emotion into every part of your story.
